When I begin either my MedSci or Sci degree, do I choose my subjects for that year(or semester?). If I do what should I choose in Medsci that will help in progressing to a microbiology or a molecular biology area. Also If I get into Sci instead of MedSci, what subjects would I then take to ensure that I am as close to possible as what I would have done in 1st year medsci so that I don't have to take that many subjects during summer?

Note i'm not stressing, I'm just feeding my speculation.

Sincerely Christopher Fife.

All the subjects you can take in the MedSc program are listed here:
http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/programs/2007/3991.html

If you did those first year subjects you have done all the prerequisites for MedSc majors. In second year you take more specialised subjects for your major. e.g. if you wish to major in microbiology, then take MICR2XXX courses. If you wish to major in physiology, take PHPH2XXX courses.
