What does this mean..???

If a University course has this written:

Assumed knowledge: Mathematics and any two units of English.
Does that Mathematics mean 2U, 3U or General. Or any???

They say "Mathematics", "Mathematics" is the name of 2 unit maths.

What most call 2 unit maths was some years ago re-named mathematics, so i guess its reffering to 2 unit.

because it says assumed knowledge, does that mean it is not required?

Because I do General Maths, can I still do this course?

So if I wanted to do this course i could?

How much less of a chance of getting would would I against a 2u Maths student. Say i was higher General Maths (85%) and they were lower 2U (40-50 %).

are you sure???

Then how are applicants approved?? Through UAI????

If this is the case, then why do so many people do 2U Maths?

If it's something you REALLY want to get into, then I'd say so. Most places offer bridging courses. Chase it up with the institution.

A mate of mine needed HSC Chemistry to get into some science course at uni, but he'd only done Biology. He ended up with a Distinction after first semester in Chemistry.

Anything's possible!

Cos, if you do Mathematics instead of General, you'd obviously have a far better advantage than the ones who did General. They are two completely different subjects.
