I have too much time for daydreaming, I think. Yeah, the Volvo love is burning strong, I can't believe how many people overlook their potential (esp. the turbos). And as you yourself know, the 2 series can be a fun and dynamic machine even without the turbo - I reckon your brother has chosen a great base to build upon. He could go for the larger block lets say a B230 instead of the B21, and a nice 'K' or 'A' cam respectively, and he's laughing. Or go nuts with the penta, B234F head, Holset, EMS...
