I'm sure those of the left, even the centre-left, think Henderson is the best thing since sliced bread. Sadly, that does not describe my political persuasion. One thing I will say about Henderson is that he doesn't even try and hide the fact that he is a dyed-in-the-wool Laborite, unlike Hartcher and co.

I guess Henderson in SMH = Akerman in DT, in terms of polarising readers.
Are you drunk? Most members of the left think Hendo a neo fascist whose too clever by half. What constitutes a middle of the road journalist in your view? Alan Jones? Andrew Bolt? Miranda Devine?

Henderson wrote a book many years ago called 'A Howard Government?'. Essentially, about the prospective make up of the government.

To suggest he is a 'laborite' is rubbish. He is one of the few objective, and fair minded commentators out there who will criticise all political persuasions.

Q&A has restored my faith in the vitality of Australian democracy (even if the crowd is markedly more tame this season)

Kev is 'extremely disappointed' at management of Pacific Brands...

+ Lend Lease
+ Telstra (pending)
+ ACP

This whole 'keeping Australian workers in jobs' agenda isn't working out too well so far.

The Unions want a "Buy Australia campaign" and the retailers person said "lol fuck off protectionists lol"

EDIT: Ms Ridout said the best way to protect jobs was to ensure firms were globally competitive.

"So just saying 'Buy Australian' I think it is just protectionist sentiment that really won't wash," she said.

Should be a good match up, essentially the men who should be treasurer but didn't get offered it versus he who everyone thinks should be shadow treasurer but doesn't want it. Costello will be a hoot, just like last time, cracking ol Sarah Palin jokes with David Marr, coming across as all measured and diplomatic next to wonderbitch Roxon, it was a deft performance. And Lindsay wasn't too shabby in his last appearance either, "I'm not very religious, I'm an Anglican." Funny man.

Tonight I thought the mp's had too much in common, Pyne and his political correctness, Shorten and his fighting for the little guy, yucky. Shorten did impress me though, those watery, twinkling eyes, the sincere, compassionate rhetoric, the small dimples when he does his little chuckle, maybe they should make him treasurer.

The Fair Work Bill is a joke.

When will the Government realise that they are flogging a dead horse with propping up the manufacturing sector in Australia? Especially considering that we simply aren't able to compete in terms of labour costs with the gross over-population of countries like India and China. The union involvement only pushes the point.

Yeah, it's beautiful and civic and stuff. Commercial centers have the air of success and prosperity, in rather stark contrast to the decaying obsolescence of the hunter st mall. A town where dreams are achieved and fortunes are made.

It feels very 'american dream' really, with the mile wide streets, ridiculous symbolism, aggressive commercialism, a town founded on freedom, governance, and the heartless pursuit of profit. love it

Yeah, the steel city is a good 20+ years off proper development and invigoration around it's CBD where it's much needed. That's even taking into consideration GPT's redevelopment. I'll be in Melbourne by December.

You'll be able to take orders for my firework supplies!

$20 if you jump the gallery and nudie run through QT.
