Is there a way to minimise or remove ugly scratches on my laptop, not on the monitor screen but on top of the laptop. My laptop layout case is metallic so yeah, any suggestions?

scratch it more and turn it into some design.

When you wanna sell it, say the Design was by Jeff Koons.... i dont know why him... maybe because his wife is a hoe.. and i like hoes..
yeh...

but seriously, i have the same problem as u, ive got a dell mini insiprino 9 or wateva and it has some scratches on it which pisses me of... im not sure but maybe they can be buffed.

Get a gel skin cover case for it to prevent more scratches. There's a site (Gelaskins) that sells cheap skins with artist designs on them that are pretty cheap and suit different models of laptops. If you really don't like the scratches, try buffing it or if you're really desperate order in a new cover to replace the scratched one :)

i saw a website where people used steel wool/sandpaper to scratch the edges of their zippo lighters to give a really good effect. however, i'd see the photos on the web before id do this to your lappy.

The scratches will annoy for a while but you'll learn to live with them.

When my laptop got its 1st scratch, I bought a clear cover thingy for it. It did help tbh. I just only peeled it off recently.
