Firefox for mac is the shiznit.

Safari = basically firefox without the plugins and marginally better standards compliance.
I find Safari for OS X SIGNIFICANTLY faster than Firefox, system resource wise. Firefox OS X port is really slow, but I use it anyway since this unforgivable Safari bug popped up recently making it impossible to stay logged in to certain websites.

Only just got on the firefox bandwgin myself. It's sooo much better. Its way quicker than IE, its customisable, and it looks good.

Havn't tried google chrome yet, might look into it.

I would suggest you use Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Opera. Probably in that order. Don't even bother with Internet Explorer.

Comparing the newest versions of all browsers, their JavaScript speed is:

Safari 4 > Chrome 2 > Opera 10 > Firefox 3.5 > IE 8.

Although Opera 10 runs 50% slower than Firefox 3.5 on AMD Phenoms for some reason.

To put it in perspective: Firefox 3.5 is 250% faster than IE8. Chrome and Safari are about 400% faster than IE8. IE8 is only marginally faster than IE7. It's pathetic.

I heard that when ever you use chrome google keeps a record of where you go on the net and what you do.

that sort of put me off of it.

Flock (based on Firefox but cooler) but I'm moving over to Chrome for stuff like web development cause if I accidentally code in an endless loop I don't have to end process, just the tab :)
