You're an idiot.

OP, do what makes you happy, just remember that the scars will be there for a long, long time, and there may come a time when you don't want to have such a visible reminder of what you went through.

i am far beyond well aware of that.....i have been through and still going through shit in my life.....i could put up wat i have done in the past 6months but no i wont waste time...get over myself hay...considering it was only the start of this week where i began to put myself before anyone else.

look i just said that because if u are posting it on here why not talk to the person and deal with it. but what they are saying makes me sound like they are proud of what they do and they dont want the help

other people go through shit too. and when someone's going through shit they don't need to have other people tell them they have 'something extremely wrong with their head'.

your second paragraph doesn't make sense.......

dux&src was asking if anyone had had a friend that went to the counsellor on them, and he was just telling everyone his situation, therefore telling us why he was asking this question.

Why are you a wrist cutter?

You are dux and src (by your name)!

Seriously you need to see a counsellor because cutting wrists really isn't normal. Not only that but when was your last tetanus immunisation?

What's to say a dux and src member cannot be unhappy with their life? They are not perfect. Think of the pressure to appear perfect. To appear happy with everything. The school community places so much pressure on these guys, and they look up to them. The expectations are ridiculously high, and it's these people who are more suceptible to crumbling inside. Cutting wrists is just so easy to do.

School counsellors are, in my opinion, a waste of time and an excellent 'escape out of class' card. I'd recommend seeing a professional clinical psychologist (personal, first-hand experience tells me this). Anyone can call themselves a 'counsellor'. My school counsellor was more harmful than helpful. Absolutely useless.

Anyone would be upset about a friend telling the school counsellor about their cutting problems. I did this once for a friend back in yr 8, not because they were cutting themselves, but more of the fact that they were bringing a knife to school and cutting themselves under the table in class; like as if they wanted people to see. I wouldn't have told anybody if they hadn't of literally published it on front page news.

...I'm sure Dux doesn't want people to see his weakness. Dux might appear 'proud' of cutting his wrists, but that isn't the case. It is because he is anonymous on BoS and he can be open about it, without worrying about his school finding out.

lets be honest here
youre angry at a friend for taking interest in your welfare?

this more than anything else is a pretty good indicator this habit of self harm is doing more than making a mess of your body.

you might convince yourself that enjoy this, that it helps.. but as someone whos been there done that, it doesnt. in four or five years if you accept assistance - through the school or independently - youll look back and cringe at the stupidity and misguidance of this mindset.

so, tl;dr
you clearly need assitance so get it.

my friends went to the counsellor and told her i was anorexic.

they then told me i had to go to the counsellor that lunchtime or she'd call my mum. i went and she still called my mum.

i was pissed off.
My school counsellor did the same thing to me in year 10 - except she gave me a week to tell my mum about my anorexia or she would! I understand now why she did it.

Except now that I am almost 18 she doesnt call my mum about shit.

I thought anything said in the counsellor room is kept confidential unless the school counsellor believes there are certain things he/she can't keep confidential and must notify parents etc.

Anyway, I have a new problem. I think i am suffering from depression but i haven't been cutting. I've just been spending all my time after school in bed, sometimes crying under the blankets till i fall asleep. :(

I want to see a GP but i feel the doctor might laugh at me and send me home. :( Then there is the school counsellor who wasn't at school today. There is one teacher i can talk to about things, but so far they don't know i am also mentally ill.

If you want to see a GP, go and do it! They wouldn't laugh at you. From what you've said you probably need their help.

hi all

a 'friend' of mine (charlie) has just told me something.
Through the talk i found out the following:

charlie has passed on to the school counsellor on Thursday details about my 'wrists' problem. :burn:

You might be thinking, why is this person complaining? well that's because it's none of charlie's business if i'm doing anything about my 'wrists'.

Anyway charlie told me that the school counselor might speak to me in a few days.

Any of you had friends refer you to the school counselor?
How did it turn out?
Did you appreciate your friend's concern?
Counsellor isn't qualified enough to help with your problem, what you need is a psychiatrist. I'm not being a smart arse or anything, I'm quite serious.

I had a friend at school-this is going back some time-who would slice her wrists whenever her parents would argue. I went to pick her up one morning and the police answered the door and while hearing their parents crying and screaming in the background, the police informed that she died the night before. I was devastated; not only because she was a good friend, but also because I was in love with her.

In regards to your friend I believe he would be concerned for your safety so if this a problem, I would thank him and seek help.

Regards,

- Bacilli

Everyone goes through hard times, and all of us handle them badly
at times - you have a friend who (probably knowingly) sacrificed his friendship with you to look out for your own best interest.
You should be grateful, as you are very blessed to have such a friend - few people do.
Who cares if the school councelor is brilliant or not - if they do not have the ability to assist you I'm sure they'll refer you to someone who can.
You obviously need help, self mutilation is addictive, and not a viable or intelligent way to handle your problems.
Addictions tend to escalate. You may think you have control over this now, but its true ugliness will be revealed in the control it eventually will have over you. Any addiction will, in time, become master of you.
Deal with this issue now, while its relatively easy.
