lol...I found out about the asterisk of unkowing doom today...

Anyway, so 85 ATAR as I stand? I WAS aiming for 99 lol. In a school ranked ~100, would I need 1st in every sub? Or top 5 at least?

Top 5 at the very least.

To be getting 99+ you really need to be topping every subject (almost regardless of the school). Top 3 should do it in a high ranking school.

It is possible for anyone at any ranking school with the top ranks to achieve 99+, but since you attend a relatively high ranking school, you should be fine if you pick up the act a little more.

For a 99, in a school ranked in the 100s, I'd say higher than top 5 ranking in most of your subjects would be necessary.

Current estimate: low 80s.

Thanks guys. OK I'll make some aims:

Math 2 Unit: 1st
Math Ext1: 1st
English Adv: Top 5
English Ext1: Top5
Physics: 1st
Chem: 1st

Math I can improve by consistently doing hw, ie. NOT FALLING BEHIND
Chem I just need to apply myself more across the board...and perhaps sit by myself.
English...erm...I'm screwed.

At James Ruse you don't need to be topping every subject. You don't even need to be top 5-10 either. Just top half in the right subjects.
