well your marks isn't bad for english, so i would suggest you try advanced but later on if you feel you're struggling with advanced you can always drop down to standard.

Standard scaling is really bad, comparatively. If you're capable (which it seems you are), definitely take advanced.

Also, essays are NOT to be memorised; you're supposed to understand the text in depth and be able to form a logical, coherent response in an exam. So it shouldn't be a determining factor. :p

Standard scaling= Advanced scaling.

If I didn't memorise my essays my aggregate score from all the essays I done in yr11/12 would be about 10.

no, advanced has a slight advantage as soon as you get over ~80+ (im pretty sure the UAC tables can be found easily)..

if advanced and standard had the same scaling then who the hell would do advanced?? the courses are different, e.g. the standard people's syllabus has a lot less emphasis on analysis, also when advanced people do 'critical study of a text' (module B), they do 'close study of a text'...

More people get in the higher bands in AdvEng than StdEng
Do Advanced first, consider dropping later if you do not do well

Really?

But yeah.. in terms of scaling, I agree with dd24.

The odds are band 6 in adv > band 6 in standard .
