The word is inquisitive.
In serious terms, the Asian combo is the best bet because those subjects contribute (statistically) most greatly per mark ratio to your ATAR score. In some cases, like Maths Extension 2, the mark contributed to the ATAR is more than what you actually got in the HSC exam. ie high scaling
There is a numerical value given to "measure" scaling called scaled mean. The scaled mean for Chemistry, Physics and Economics is about 33, give or take 1/2. ie quite good given they aren't extension subjects or ridiculously obscure (eg Latin or Classical Greek)

brother your first mistake is this post.it is one thing to gather information and research but its another to neglect your responsibilities.you need to sit down with your pearents and careers advisor and discuss the subjects you want to do.no matter what you pick you will probably end up hating it somewhere between now and your last exam.just remember hard work will get you your 80+ ATAR not the subjects you pick.good luck and hang in there!

BEFORE you condemn yourself to physics etc. for the next 2 years, I seriously advise you to reconsider your likes and dislikes. I hated physics from term 1 of year 11, and ended up dropping it this year. I tried to make myself like it, and to "get my head around" the ideas in the course, but couldn't. If it ever comes to a choice between what you like and what is a good scaling subject, ALWAYS go with the subject you like. Cliched as it sounds, don't force yourself to eat pain for breakfast for 2 years.

go with phys + chem combo. better scaling and u have lots of time to work on those

wat do u mean lots of time to work on them? I am more leaning on IPT than chem bcs they are in same lines. I wanted IPT as its easy subject and i can get an high mark easily. With chem i already got physics and i do not want to stres my science. Also i hear chem is a harder subject than IPT(obviously). Since i am going to get a heavyworkload from 3u maths..physics ..enginering studies and mayb economics i just chose IPT to relax abit. But is chem any difficult?
I heard IPT had a large workload?. Anyway I don't know. I personally am leaning into science so i'm doing the three sciences. Your subjects sound good and you have good rankings. At our school we have to get the tech head teacher to accept us before we write IPT as an option.

I was thinking of doing Geography as it is in the same line as IPT. But geography is not really needed in the subjects i am doing. So i choose IPT as you use computers alot and get to know stuff about it programs etc. As engineering requires some knowledge and to know about programs..Such as AutoCad. I also heard geography has a very big workload.
EW. I hate geography. Lol no offence. It got me the worst rankings out of my half yearlies.
im quite good at it got 7th in year rank. But as i sed i do not need it and computers is an easy subject which i need.

you seem to be good at most of your subjects, just choose what you like and what will help for engineering

your only in year 10, you have lots of time to work on chem and physics. im doing prelim course now, with ext math and eng + all sciences and the work is not that much. I said go with chem + phys combo because they are some of the best scaling subjects. You have loads of time to manage those subjects. its up to you what u want to do but you will get a higher ATAR with the phys + chem combo assuming you do avg to fairly well in those subjects which is pretty easily achieved. good luck

just a note, engineering has a huge syllabus, in prelim physics we could relax a few days and work a few, prelim engineering is full work throughout the whole year.
even in prelim engo you learn about stuff in hsc physics like transistors, transformers, moments/torque.
don't get me wrong i liked engineering with all that stuff about the coefficients of static and kinetic friction especially, but if you think that ur gonna struggle with workload from sciences, engineering will be... well worse.
i don't do IPT but i heard it is "one of the easiest free mark, bludgy subjects in the HSC" quoted by my friend, on the other hand it has a terrible scaling

workload dw i can handle it lol...When i want something which is to get 85+ in ATAR and an engineering course in UNI i will go for it no matter wat. I aint no quitter
