So the big day is coming up, you've been slaving away practising (or not practising for those purists) your skills for the umat, only to be horrified you didn't bring proper id!

i only just realised my passport was about 2 and a half years old yesterday; well my Australian one anyway, so now i have to get a new form of id :(

just a heads up, you should check the site for a list of what you can and cant use.

UMAT - Identification

And as an aside question, would i be right in assuming they will accept foreign passports as id?

Ring ACER to be on the safe side: It should be fine as long as it is valid and is in English, Ihave seen quite a few New Zealanders and others with foreign passports in previous years, but the same can't be said for certain this year since they are cracking down hard on students.

Or alt: From the Umat 2009 info book

"
Student cards and/or documents that have expired will NOT be accepted under any circumstances.
If you do not possess any of the above forms of photo-bearing identification you must obtain a

On the website it says your passport must have been issued within the last two years!

Sorry, I tried to edit my original post with this info but, last night but BOS lagged out for me.

ACER said:
On the test day you will be required to show one form of photo-bearing identification.

Your identification must include:

1.your name;
2.your date of birth;
3.a recent photograph, embedded in the card (ie not laminated); AND
4.your signature.
Only these documents are acceptable:
Current passport - issued within 2 years
Current driver's licence or learner's permit (photo-bearing)
Current (photo-bearing) Keypass /Proof of Age Card/ 18+ Card/ Photo Card
Student ID card and/or expired documents will NOT be accepted under any circumstances.

If you do not possess any of the above forms of photo-bearing ID you must obtain a certified letter of identification. This letter must be on official letterhead (school, other educational institution or employer) AND contain

1.your name
2.your date of birth
3.a passport photo glued to the letter with the institution stamp overlapping
4.the signature and title of the official verifying the identification
5.your signature.

If you do not present one of the forms of ID listed above, or if the identity document you present does not bear an easily recognisable photograph of you as you look on the test day, you will not be permitted to sit UMAT and will be turned away from the test centre.
