Just curious,
Does Standard and Advanced scale the same for English, or is there a slight difference?

Not really. The UAC release scaling statistics for each year, and if you scroll down you can see the comparison between marks in standard and advanced:
Table A3

Also, if you go here you will see that 0.23% of all students doing standard actually get a band 6. That's about 74 students, of the 32000 that do it.

Lol obviously it would be 40% for paper 1 and 60% for paper 2 seeing how paper 1 is only 45/105 and paper 2 is 60/105:)

That's not how weighting usually works though. Like in maths you could have 2 sections worth the same amount of marks but the weighting for each section might differ... then again we're talking about english teachers here so you could be right

Ah ok I can see that its weighting varies from school to school but generally its 25-30% as opposed to the 40% for most subjects. Good :)

Module english exam today... If I passed I would be extremely surpised.

The part that got me the most was representation and text, which we did Julius Caesar... Ok, I didn't even know that was the name of the unit. I thought the name of the unit was Conflicting Perspectives.

My trial was worth 16%- 8% for each paper.
