Re: Would you join a poltical party

yea you said he was intelligent..I said we must must have different opinions about what intelligence means....
Again, if you call what politcians requires to 'get where they are' 'intelligence', we obviously attribute different traits to the word. I think 'intelligence' has more to do with critical thinking, creativity, wit, etc.....while I think your confusing it with cunning, networking ability, opportunism, the capacity to hold contradictory beliefs... etc

turnbull was originally a lawyer...was he not?..i never said all of them are..
obviously I hit a nerve or something because you're involvevd with that rather sad 'young liberal' nonsense (no offence intended)
Lol, a nerve? Not at all, you're just talking utter shit, fanned by misconception and misplaced cynicism.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN

come on people we need to save the planet 4 our future children:sun::sun:
Fortunately people like you vote for parties which will never amount to anything, thus rendering your vote useless.
(Damn, preferential system proves me wrong, but in an ideal world.....)

If you're part of a political party you are a downie.

Thats my honest opinion.

Which party?

And no, I don't think I'd ever join a political party. I'm not committed enough to any one political organisation to warrant the time and money associated with an active membership.

so are you, or are you not, involved with the 'young liberal' rubbish?
and i'm not a cynic..I dont distrust politicians and I'm not particulary wary of their motives, I just think the current lot are exceeding boring, unentertaining and mediocre...exceedingly mediocre.
From the outside, turnbulls navie understanding of economics and muddled stance on fiscal policy does not come of as 'intelligent', coupled this with the whole email affair,....basically bright minds dont go into politics, sycophants do.

Uh, yes? I have made no attempt to hide it, and it gives me a much better perspective on the situation than you do, given I've actually met many of them in person (and it's hard to hide being a dumbshit in person - they are few and far inbetween).

Generally politicians are the exact opposites of sycophants, dude.

How do you manage then, i dont get it..

do you actually know what a sycophant is...? if so, your babble contradicts itself.
Young liberals creep me out, they are proud of the intellectual chains. Whats the point of associating it with the liberal party, it's admiting your more interested in self-affirming luncheons and the like....I mean what was the last interesting and original idea you produced?

Re: Would you join a poltical party

You seem a bit deluded. This isn't America.
No, it's true, really. If by success he means holding down government. Because of the preference system, Australia has a very central focus in the political spectrum... Unless we see either massive reforms (or a massive pro far-left/right movement whereby, by some chance, a minor party receives an overwhelming percentage of votes) we'll continue to see this two-party dominance... We won't have anything like in England with the DLP holding about a third of the House of Commons..
