For those who are undertaking the degree, what's it like? For me, I see it as a back up if I don't enjoy the double degree (transfer into grad. med at USYD via. medsci).

All opinions are appreciated! Thanks in advance.

It just seems pointless and like a lot of work... Like if your aim is to do grad medicine, it doesn't matter whether you do Med Sc or Law or Arts, and if you're doing the double degree purely because you think it'd look ace when you apply for grad med, you're a fair nong.

You would really have to enjoy law and medical science to want to really do this degree, do you want to really do this degree?

Also, I can't imagine what you would actually do with it that would be useful, as opposed to just doing law first and grad med later, maybe being a medical insurance lawyer or some shit

Thanks for the reply! You've got a good point, but again, it's like a back up. Since undergrad med is competitive, what if I don't get in?

What are the job prospects for this double dgree as well? I'm not sure if I'll enjoy law yet, but it's worth a shot. Since I'm a science person, I definitely won't mind medical science.

If you don't get in to undergrad med, there is always grad med and grad med doesn't require a degree like MedSc as a prerequisite. That said, if you enjoy science, speficially medical sciences, job prospects include;
- Pathology testing
- Research
- Selling medical equipment/pharmaceutic rep
- Science teaching

Not sure what you'd do with MedSc/Law. Medicine/Law you could probably be a medical insurance or medical injury lawyer, representing hospitals/clients in cases of medical negligence, that sort of stuff. But MedSc/Law I have no idea. Maybe organising patents and stuff for research companies.
