what is the difference between the med schools, such as the course itself, subjects within the course, the order of the subjects and the fees.

Fee structure is the same for all med schools except for Bond uni and International students (must pay full-free up front ~$32-45K/pa). Fees for domestric students are covered by the Commonwealth Supported Places scheme/HECS (~$7,500 per year upfront, etc or you can defer the entire payment), unless you go to a private university such as Bond University which charges $52K+ per year for all students.

Med students have lives outside of study you know! Also we get a day off during first and second year during the week, etc. Most first/second year students work, or have other commitments such as volunteer work, tutoring hsc students, etc during the week.

I second this! Wooz is seriously helpful when it comes to med questions! Just make sure you try and find out the answer yourself first, I've seen a few rants about this from him... But seriously, and awesome med mod lol

There is a huge variation in course structure. This is best investigated on a uni by uni basis. Rest assured that all accredited medical schools have to meet set standards for accreditation. Currently this is assessed by the Australian Medical Council (though this could possibly change in the future if it gets dragged into government plans for national registration for the health professions, which is technically a seperate issue but they have the potential to be conflated).

med can be combined with arts at UNSW for a 7 year course... philosophy is just a major if I'm correct?
It's what I'm hoping to do next year with a major in english or lote

Aye, it is the UNSW Combined BA/MBBS degree, though I have structured it as follows in order to do honours in arts (philosophy):

3 years medicine (phase 1 coursework + phase 2 clinical + a couple arts subjects)

1 year arts coursework

1 year arts honours (thesis + coursework, replacing the medical research year)

2 years medicine (phase 3 clinical)

The ILP is a mandatory research compenent of the UNSW MBBS degree. Exemption can be gained if one instead completes an honours year or if one is able to provide adequate evidence of past research, e.g. published papers or the award of an appropriate degree (e.g. a previous PhD or honours/masters by research).
