homeostasis-is the proces of keeping the internal body environment constant so that it will function effieciently.(pretty basic there are no examples in this one but i could off said when you work out the body gets hot so it sweats to cool down or something like that but in more detail)

okay,since were on control and co-ordianation,identify and provide an example of the role that 2 different systems of the body that contribute to actions and reactions to an external/internal stimuli.

hmm... i'm stupid so I'll just guess what the answer would be
Endocrine system
--Hypothalamus (part of the brain)
-> sends message to the pituitary
-> which goes to the thyroid stimulating hormone
-> which stimulates the thyroid to produce thyroxine into the blood
-> which increases metabolic rate
-> as throxine increases it inhibits further releases of Thyroid stimulating hormone.

Nervous system
-> hand touches hot plate
-> heat receptors in skin detect stimulus
-> sensory neurone carries impulse
-> spinal cord relays impulse
-> motor neurone carries impulse
-> effector organs produce response and move hand away

Explain why Lamarck's theory of evolution is wrong.

lamarck baptise,proposed the theory of acuired charectiristics,which basically meant inheritence to a degree.he said that a giraffe got its long neck by continully stretching it when got food from the trees.however the theory is wrong because threre is no evidence that aquired ch... are pased down to offspring,for eg.a built person doesnt pass on his mucles to his/her offspring.as the char..... is acquired not inherited(passed on) as lamarck proposed.

however it was very close to evolution,in a abstract-rational of way.

outline the key differences between an acid,base and a nuetral substance and how do they react whith a litmus paper(indicater)-what colour does it turn?

Acids pH <7
- taste sour
- corrosive
- reacts with metals

Base pH >7
- taste bitter
- reacts with hydrogen gas

Neutral substance
- pH 7
- dont know anything else about it.

Litmus paper
Acids- turns red
Base- turns blue

What is the big bang theory and what are the possible fates?
Current scientific theory to explain the creation of the universe, it started with a quark which split or something... One fate is big rip where everything continues to expand, stars die out and everything becomes cold and dark forever, the other one is the big crash (i think) where it's like the opposite of the big bang and the universe collapses.

-

Explain Darwin's theory.

Explain Darwin's theory.
Darwin proposed a theory called the natural selection, he he believed that only the fittest organisms will survive and the same characteristics will be passed onto their offspring and the rest will die out and.
for example giraffe with long necks survived where as the ones with short necks died out.

My turn
Identify 1 natural resource and outline 2 properties that make it economically useful.

Corn, it can be eaten and used as a fuel for cars 'n' stuff.

Write the combustion reaction for Cyclohexane.
C6H12+902 gives CO2+6H20

Ok?
why are cycles important to ecosystems?

Write the combustion reaction for Cyclohexane.
Cyclohexane + oxygen = carban dioxide + water

question: easy one - wats DNA stand for and wats their functions?

heyy i answered that question already about Cyclohexane
anywaz ur answer is deoxyribonucleic acid.
The functions of DNA are important for inheritance, coding, proteins and the genetic blueprint of everyone's unique life

now my question again.:sun:
why are cycles important to ecosystems?

ur answer is on #32!

sorry didnt realize that
alpha, beta and gamma are 3 types of radiations
alpha has large mass.
beta has lighter mass and fast moving electrons
gamma has high frequency and shortest wavelenghts.
my turn
what problems occur as a result of biotechnology?

cloning cells, tissues, organs or whole human bodies
genetic testing for diesase
the production of dna profiles to identify individual or reveal reationships.

my question: in periodic table, group 1 is also know as wat? group2 is also know as wat?

group 1 is also known as alkali metals
group 2 is alkaline earth metals.

Close but it's actually:
  • Gravity
  • Magnetic
  • Weak Nuclear
  • Strong Nuclear

My question

Helium. Oops, meant to say Hydrogen... But Helium is a major gas too I guess...

What is the difference between genotype and phenotype?
