The Saw series of movies are worse than Left 4 Dead 2, and they release those happily. L4D1 was actually quite tame compared to some games and movies out there.

We need a change of ratings, obviously, but it won't happen without a stand from the gaming community. Petitions could be signed but that never really goes anywhere. We need to figure out a good way of clearly projecting our views in a manner that they WILL take notice.

I mean, I bet most of "The Board" are 50 year olds that have never touched a console controller.

They should really create the R18+ classification and require I.D. be presented while purchasing. That way if a parent buys an R18+ game and their kid is disturbed by it, IT'S THE PARENTS FAULT!!! (Taking away Michael Atkinson's validity in the situation).

Keeping these virtual games or 'lessons' out of the country is for the best.

Most of the rest of the world disagrees. You may aswell be saying "ban R-18 and M-15 movies" because the content in them is far worse than the majority of games.

There are steps to avoid the games getting into the hands of little kids, and those disturbed few that "have a fetish for violent beheadings" are probably better letting it out on a computer game anyway. No matter what, these violent, disturbed individuals will find an outlet and it would probably be better that it be a virtual outlet other than one based in reality, don't you think?

The issue about children is easy to contain, such as my I.D. being presented for the purchase of 18+ games, and when or if kids come to your place, simply unplug the console, hide the leads and games and monitor the games they play if you allow them on it.
