I am going to undertake English and History Teaching at UNSW in 2010 and have a Department of Education and Training - TEaching Scholarship.
I achieved 88.45 for my HSC but achieved top bands for english .. my other subjects brought it down :(

Sydney - Tutor in Biology, English, Essay Writing, History, Legal Studies, Maths, All school certificate, Basic Skills Test, SNAP and Selective test subjects.

i got 47/50 for english ext 1 and can definitely help if you are doing sci fi , ROMANTICISM (my elective) or Post Modernism.
I achieved 44/50 for the Ext History Exam and 90 for ancient history.

you don't need tutoring for these subjects trust me. judging by your subject choice you shoud be naturally inlicned to the humanities and will do fine. many of your pupils will be like this but some will get cocky and not put in extra effort, so put in where they put out and you'll do great.

visual arts, art history really is taught quite transparently so you won't need help for that, and it is very difficult to teach someone who can not paint or draw.

english extension you will pick up easily, easier than advanced because you have less things to look at but in more detail, so it'll be very consistent. extension 2 has a lot of personal time with your teacher who really should be your mentor, the only other help you need is criticism, so contact authors, or your friends to read your work.

same applies with history extension and ancient history is dead easy.

save your money, just put in the extra little effort

Lol are you joking ... what elective did you do for extension english ?
and extension history ... the major work process is greatly benefitted by outside help, especially if you are without a good teacher.

i didn't do post modernism so i was lucky, i did genre which is probably easiest of the lot. it's one topic throughout the entire year so why wouldn't that be easier? expecially considering for the exam all you need to study for is for the one essay.

well i had no help from my teacher and no outside help and managed to get full marks, but i only managed this because i was really engaged in my topic so really the major work was more about researching new ideas for me instead of the marks

i did crime fiction so pretty easy. i'm a film buff so all my related and one of my prescribed texts were film so it was easy (less quotes). crime fiction creative is always easy because it's formulaic but i always try to steer away from that and i lose out in the end...sucked balls also
