On the upside, them wearing a burka in public lets everyone see how backward and oppressed they are. On the downside I doubt any of those women actually choose to wear the burka. See another of my posts:
And when I replied to that post, didn't you concede that you can't say that about all Muslim women? Or are you contradicting yourself?

I say we have a $1000 fine for having a mullet as it signifies dangerous gangs of middle-eastern appearance.

Not when the piece of clothing represents oppression of women, is forced upon people by a religion deemed undesirable by all common-sensed peoples, and is a forced daily reminder and display of religion in a secular country.
While we're at it, let's ban porn.

well, as it pertains to rape porn, you might have a point.

but then again, porn doesn't exactly lead to stonings and honour killings whereas islam does. we need to discourage islam.
Honour killings have nothing to do with Islam. It happens to be a cultural thing, in case you didn't know.

And @ the rest of you, how come you support the freedom allowing a woman to reveal as much as she wants, but you won't allow women the freedom of covering whatever she wants?

Motorcyclists are required to remove their helmets when entering a servo/bank/place of business.

These women dont have to remove their burkas, even if they cover more then a conventional motorcycle helmet does.

What is stopping a man dressing up in a burka and hiding a pump action under the head to toe dress?

That 'itty bitty piece of cloth' is a complete head-covering black shroud with mesh over the eyes.

Nakedness is illegal, and now the opposite is. On the other hand, any person can be naked, whereas only women wear the burka. You can argue that France is minimising inequality.
Inequality? So, if a woman chooses to cover herself up, that means she is unequal to a man?

What is stopping a man dressing up in a burka and hiding a pump action under the head to toe dress?
Then, by that arguement, you should just ban loose clothing, shouldn't you? By your logic, what's to stop a man wearing a really loose shirt, and hiding a pump action there? Should loose clothing be banned too?

Have you seen the length of a conventional pump action? God you are daft.

I said head to toe dress, not individual clothing attire.

So then, should long dresses be banned? Long, loose dresses? Maybe with a shawl on top?

It's so people can be identified if some crazy shit goes down. It's a bit hard to get a pos id on someone with a cloth covering their head.

Who is this day of age wears shawls?

You are not getting it, the point im getting at is people can use H2T burkas/whatever they are called to to hide practically all noticeable skin and bodily figure. They dont remotely look like a dress, they look like a sheet with a box cut out of it for the eyes.

I haven't read through the entire thread, nor did I read through the article, so I don't know if this has been mentioned. But Burkhas only refer to that covering which covers the entire body.

like so:

so sexy and mysterious.

That's stupid. Banning a burka because a guy could hide something under it. And yet, no one would think to ban dresses and shawls. And yes, people in this day and age do wear shawls.

Ban the burka in a place of business, the same places where motorcyclists cant because its against the law.
