Less tolerance of bullies.

Female

2. what is your age group?
15 - 19

3. Do you feel that there are enough services in our local community to satisfy the needs of people that are bullied?

Yes

Please comment:
There are a number of support groups externally (call lines etc), as well as intervention and counselling services within schools, generally set up by principals and the like. The services are there, but it is ultimately the bullied person’s prerogative to seek out this help and support.

4. Have you heard of any of the following support services for bullied people in your local community?

- Yes all of them.Kids Help Line
Reachout Australia
Youthbeyondblue.com
bullyingnoway.com.au
Antidiscrimination Act 1977
Headspace
Youth.NSW - Home
Peer Group support (at schools)
Peer mediation
Various antibullying campaigns at school

5. What do you consider to be the most important needs(or for wellbeing), for the people that are bullied ? Please rank in highest priority order from 1-5

Social - 3

Emotional - 2

Physical - 4

Psychological - 1

Economic - 5

6. Do you think that society as a whole believes the resources available satisfy the needs / wellbeing of the bullied
Nobecause there seems, overwhelmingly, to be some leftist skew on society’s views, where society “always has to do more” to stop these ‘issues’. But there ARE enough resources, even if society, bureaucrats and politicians seem to overlook them

7. List any resources or services you know that are available in your local community for the people that have been bullied?
All of those listed in question four, plus community centres etc.

8. Is there anything that our society could do to further support the needs / wellbeing of victims of bullying
Nothing further is really required.

9. Do you agree or disagree with the following statements.

Being bullied can give a person a positive self-esteem –
No.

Kids bullied online are more likely to suffer from depression and anxiety –
Probably, but this question seems to be more geared at a psychologist/trained professional.

Cyber bullying is the most common way of being bullied –
No, it probably happens more in real life.

Kids only get bullied because they are 'different' –
I wouldn’t know

People that get bullied feel alone and think there is nothing they can do to solve the problem –
Again, I wouldn’t know, but probably.

Bullies have low self-esteem and may have been bullied in the past –
Ok, I’m going to stop agreeing/disagreeing now because this list is almost IMPOSSIBLE to agree or disagree with.

The bully can be one person or more

Bullying is the desire to hurt, threaten or frighten someone

If you are bullied you're three times more likely to be depressed

Some teens that are bullied resort to committing suicide

The effects of bullying can be long term

Kids that are being bullied are reluctant to tell an adult

Kids that are being bullied don’t want to go to school

Being a victim of bullying for many years at my high school I don't think there is anywhere near enough to satisfy the needs of those being bullied. Eg I was told to see a counsellor where I was told that it was "all my fault" literally in those words, and even if I had something to do with it, you do not tell someone in that situation everything is their own fault.

All of the above.

stop assuming that the 'campaigns' in place actually make a difference. Teachers turn a blind eye to everything that goes on in schools as its just something else they have to deal with. Other times though, girls especially, are sneaky and can get away with it, and teenagers especially need to feel more comfortable telling someone about it and seeking help.
