auto IS point and steer driving, but i started on a manual and FUCK it was hard! did about 12 hrs on the manual then waited ages till we got an auto that i could drive (wasnt game enough to drive a 4wd).
of course you go with what your family has, but if you have a choice, i'd go for the auto, then try the manual once you're on your greens & know the ropes

It was pretty embarassing though.
I didn't know you needed an extra 20 for your license itself.
I only had 15... and had to call my mum up to get me money :(

The price for the piece of plastic goes up exponentially for higher licences.
