these are the results in my first assessments of year 12:

Standard English: 92%( 2nd highest mark , highest was 96% rank: 2/77)
General maths: 72%( rank:3/65)

Economics 63% (rank:11/12).. this was the worst one
Modern History 95%(rank:6/17)
SOR 1unit havent got this back yet but around 80%

Looking at your marks, yes I would say it is very possible. Keep in mind that if you get an average of 85+ in most subjects, then you are pretty much guaranteed an 80, regardless of what subjects you do. I'd say personally, aim higher than 80... you'd be surprised what you get with a little pushing :)

had my second assessment for maths today,, went terrible missed out on 5% worth of easy questions due to the teacher being dumb and not telling us that the last question is on the back of the multiple choice sheet.. it was worth 13%,, would actually be happy if i get 70%:( would this ruin my chances of gettin at least 75 in my atar

Econ: 95% 1st/15
Maths: 97% 1st/40
English: 70-75% (not sure on rank, probably slightly above average so say 25-30/70
Modern: 65% (my worst, don't know what happened >.>) not sure on rank either, about 7-8/12
IPT: 3rd/12

My school rank fluctuates about 300 ranks each year. 2008 was 250, 2009 was 600? I think our year will bring it up a bit though.

Chance of getting 82+?

These are only first term assessment marks, I'll probs be asking this again after half-yearlies. Expecting to drop down a bit in Maths, everyone is on my ass. Eco will definitely stay in at least top 2. Expecting an improvement in Modern, considering I came 2nd in Prelim. I'm hoping that was just really an anomaly.

just finished my first 2 half yearly exams, standard english and modern

i stuffed up in english i done my essay first and spent an hr and 10 mins on which gave me around 50 mins to do creative writing and unseen text.. so i had to rush them, i would be happy with 70%
but for modern , one of the easiest exams i have ever done. i reckon i will get 85+.. standard was worth 20% modern was worth 15%

am i still on track to getting aaround 78+ atar?

I think your school would probably set easier assessments but meh everyone has a chance at 82+ :]
