My contract is 34 hours but I usually get flexed up to 38.

MMacka, I was under the impression that you cannot use unpaid leave until you have used all your paid annual leave up. - unless you secretly just "delete" the shift.

Worked 7am-6pm yesterday :S

lol dude. why?

The most i've ever done is 13 hour shift due to someone calling in sicka nd being unable to cover the shift .. only had my hr lunch breka as well T_T.

But what really sucks - is working 5am shifts 3 days in a row, and then doing 2 midnight shifts in a row. reallly screws around wit hsleeping habits

I don't think we have any PPT or casuals on contracts...everyone's hours is flexed to the maximum. Mine can start on the roster at anywhere from 15ish to 30ish (or when I'm doing department manager or 2IC relief, 40), and finish on Sunday night anywhere from 20ish to 50ish. A bit of variety helps to keep work interesting - no week is ever the same.
I think by contract we just meant the actual hours on the persons PT/FT roster.

For instance, my actual roster:
Thurs: 5.30-9.30
Sat: 12-7.

But this week is going to be the first week ever that thats all I've worked.

Do you have one of the new Total Image badges? Jealous!!!
Nah its still the one of the old ones. With the "stylized W" not the old old one.

I'm contracted to 35 hours but usually always get 38. I think I only get 35 once a month?

Re: leave

I have like none, AL only 40hrs because I just used 100hrs up when I went on hols in January and very little sick leave, can't remember how much, I also used all my accrued sick leave as I was very sick late last year ( in hospital etc). It v. depressing to see all your leave gone, going to take a long time without hols to build it up again.....

Ive never really done it until this weekend (I do backdock, nightfill and floor work) and I went off at at least 5 customers for being smart asses.

I actually think my 2IC is retarded. She just rang me asking me to do close on Friday (as a supervisor), which I can't do.
2IC: Oh, oh, I really need a supervisor
Me: Isn't *our 3IC* working?
2IC: Does she do close on Fridays?
Me: Yes
2IC: Hmm, I'll think about it.

WHAT IS THE POINT IN HAVING A 3IC IF YOU DON'T WANT TO USE HER AS A SUPERVISOR? Seriously, this girl spends 38 hours a week on mains - she doesn't even get Monday supervision anymore.

Lol really? Our 3IC is always doing supervision. We usually have three supervisors on tue, wed and thu anyway.

Our CSM/2IC rotate through Mon-Sat 7-5, or Tues-Fri 8.30-6.30 (except Thurs which is 11.30-9.30). Previously, whoever was 3IC did Monday 9.30-6.30 supervision to allow for two supervisors on a Monday. However, the girl that does Saturday/Sundays in charge is now available on Mondays, so she gets that shift. Then I do Thursday nights with either the CSM/2IC, and there is another girl who rotates around everyone, picking up shifts wherever there is a need.

I guess its different seeing as we only trade 62 hours a week.

Question -

I'm going to be leaving Woolies in the next few months and I asked the office cashier how many weeks notice do I have to give. She said I have to give 2 weeks. BUT, I was reading the new agreement and it said I only have to give 1 weeks notice. Another staff member said it's only 1 week because we get paid weekly. Does anyone here know the right answer?

worked a 15hr day yesterday, was so tired by the time i came home, pretty much fell asleep on the lounge lol

Our store opens 118hrs a week, and im contracted to 44hrs one week, 38hrs the next

TG Fan: how long have u been with woolworths? my understanding is if you have been with the company less than 1year, its 1 week, anything between 1-4 years is 2 weeks, over 5 years is 3 weeks.
