So when do we pick our majors for commerce? Also if i am a first year student then is it advised that i pick all of my compulsory cores before choosing my flexible cores?

If you're just doing just commerce:

Semester 1:
4 compulsory courses (Acct 1a, micro, BES, MGMT)
Semester 2:
Choose 4 elective level 1 courses (there's a list on the UNSW website)
If you know which majors you want to do, then choose the corresponding elective coruses for that major cos they will be prerequisites (part of the major)

You choose your majors in 2nd year. Even then, you can still change your major later anyway. If you've done courses in your old major that are not part of your new proposed major, they will still be counted into your commerce degree (not major). You have up to 3 courses (18 UOCS) that can be counted as "extra courses from the ASB) - "see flexible options"

but for Actuarial, it says that we do MATH1151 instead of ECON1203. so if I do ECON1203 in first semester, does that ruin my chance of doing Actuarial?

Yes. Unless you want to 1. Wait a year to do Math1151 2. Try and get exemption to do Math1251 and actl1001.

I'm wondering if I picked MATH1151 first year, can I still pick MATH1141 2nd year even though it says:
Exclusions: MATH1011, MATH1031, MATH1131, MATH1141, ECON1202, ECON2291.
