Isn't voting compulsory when you're 18 and over?
How did you get away it, Jimmy?

We would be better served if kids could somehow be taught the processes of critical thinking, the nature of logic, burdens of proof and all that jazz. An unbiased political education doesn't really exist.
just going to quote this again as it addresses the argument of teaching children policy

infact it addresses basically every issue with everything

A lot of the people at the Australian basically took the view that people who still live at home rent free, have their parents pay for all their food and clothes and get driven around by their parents won't really get income tax, stamp duty, interest rates etc and the impacts they have on "working families" so to speak and therefore 16 year olds voting is entirely inappropriate. Whilst a lot of people do stay at home till they're 19, 20...24, 25; the significant chunk that start moving out around 18 or at least paying rent makes it about appropriate. Any thoughts on this argument?
