Full fee university payments, Lower ATAR cutoff?? (1 Viewer)

Whilst it's true that Full-Fee Paying places were abolished in 2008, it's untrue that you can't pay to get in to a university at a lower cutoff.

Most universities in Australia have a scheme where you can pay to study at an affiliated private college (or whatever) in what they call a 'pathway'. Do a search on the universities you're interested in. Most of the time you can pay your way and not even miss a year.

Pathways vary - at Macquarie one option is called 'Non Award' where you actually do the same classes as HECS students and you just pay upfront. Macquarie also has another private college on-campus called SIBT which can lead to an MQ degree transfer. Most universities have similar schemes which render HSC results essentially useless if you have cash.
