So I've always wanted to get into some decent photography. I'm a complete noob on the technical side of it.
What's a decent starting camera?

I'm no photography enthusiast but I've heard this is the best starter DSLR from friends.nikon D3100
Actually, that'd be the Canon 550D, it's got the same size sensor as the 7D and 60DI'm no photography enthusiast but I've heard this is the best starter DSLR from friends.
Aperture priority mode is your friend. Although a (50mm) prime lens would really help, they are only a few hundred.such a shame that lenses are so fucking expensive though. I want to take pictures where the subject is sharply focused and the background is blurry but apparently this requires a $2000 lens to achieve? :/
Nice jewellery and images!hells yeah found a way to achieve this look with my 55-250mm lens: telephoto zoom, lowest f stop, bam. only problem is I obviously have to stand very far away from the subject (better for taking photos of people). Otherwise i can use my 18-55mm lens zoomed all the way with the lowest f-stop, but i have to get close as possible to the subject (better for small subjects).
Here's some pics i took. They arent very good because i've never touched a DSLR before today, but they'll do. Some are a bit dark because my room is dark and i dont like using flash -_-
f/5.6, 1/40 sec, ISO-320, 55mm focal length
