To the people that say there is a discrepancy between a and b grade responses in english I say this:
I got a 20/20, a 16/20, 13/20 and a 9/15 for my trial essays. The comments on all of them except the 20/20 were that I needed to link back to the question more. They were pretty much the same comments. I went to the teachers afterwards and both the 13/20 and 16/20 said if I'd linked more I would've gotten 18-20/20 and I haven't spoken to the other teacher yet. Anyways, I'm just wondering if my problem was the same in both then why the fuck did I get a 3 mark discrepancy?! Which is an entirely different band!

Engineering Studies - 1/5 - 65% (hard test)

17/20 for MC and I guessed some.

BTW, everyone that said H2SO4 and HCl had the same ph and H+ concentration were retarded and I was fucking right!

Just saying, we got chem back today, I scored 68%, 19/20 in MC. I put that they had the same pH and H+ concentration, and I was given the mark.

Legal Studies = 92/100

I actually have to agree with arob.. I go to a really poorly ranked school - 280ish
And I can see how some teachers are more lenient in their marking, particularly in the longer 7/6/5 mark responses in bio,
and occasionally in english.

280 isn't poorly ranked; there are probably thousands of schools sitting the HSC. Anything in the top 400 of the state is still good. But all schools have different markers and different markers means different points of view, and different ideas as to the difference between and A and B range response. An Italian speaking mark of 20/20 at a school ranked, say, 500th, which does kind of OK in that subject, could be a 15-16/20 at a school ranked 50th, which has a history of state ranks in Italian. My brother graduated in 2009 from his school which was ranked somewhere between 80-120 (dux got 99.1 that year), and he said he was surprised at how hard it is to get a band 6/A-range mark in English at my school. It's frustrating because bio teachers are so particular (e.g. "You forgot to specify (insert annoyingly insignificant detail here), lose a mark".

Not trying to be arrogant and sorry it comes across that way.

didn't do cssa but WOOOOOOOOOOO 89% in 4u! much better than i expected, i think my rank is =5/99 mark is 107/120 the marks went 118 -> 116 --> 111 --> 110 --> 107 hahaha. I think the average is around 80-85/120, so i'm really happy with this

also get this... of the 4 people who beat me, three are white hahahaha.

Also, well done khfreakau, its cos the white kids are the ones that are actually smart, not asians who rely on their tutors to be smart.

Independent Chemistry - 92% 1st/26
Independent Physics - 85% 1st/23
CSSA English Advanced - 87/105 8th/73
CSSA SOR I 44/50 ??/?? (went shittt)
Japanese Continuers and Extension haven't gotten back yet

Really? what was it? i think the 4u average is in the high sixties percentwise, but i'm not sure exactly where. I heard that 2u was 70%? was it really that hard? D:

nah tambam came 4th overall so she found it easy but shes way better than the rest of the 2u kids so i can understand why they struggled

And yeah, 2u average was 70%....It wasn't super hard, most stuff was pretty standard, so yeah i'm severely doubting the ability of our grade....The highest mark was only 112/120.
