Oh so your assuming there are 8 bits to a byte. (which is the normal, but it can vary to 7 sometimes and even 9 depending on error checking bits and ASCII)

Is it easy enough doing (81920b)/(2400b/s)=34.13 seconds without a calculator?

do you just guess and check until you get the correct or close to value.

It's a multiple choice question, and 34 seconds is one of the options.

I was taught to do division that way, back in primary.

since 2400 goes into 8192 around 3 times with a 992 remainder which goes next to the last 0. which makes 9920, then 2400 goes into that around 4 times remainder 320. therefore = 34 r 320, therefore 34 seconds.

When doing calculations you should assume that there are 8 bits per byte unless otherwise specified.
