It's pretty obvious teachers are under paid and under valued, but there's so many terrible ones that need to be weeded out for a higher social status to be truly deserved imo.

Hi, my mum is a teacher and i myself am training to be a high school teacher - with a scholarship.i have to agree...
if we didnt need teachers to mark our work i honestly would be studying at home and never turning up to class
teachers make so many ignorant mistakes and are as stubborn as hell when u try to REASONABLY rectify the issue
they get paid for making life difficult
hate!
Pay correlated with the amount of damage done by fire. If a whole building is destroyed, obvs. didn't try hard enough.demand performance-based pay for firefighters!
doin it toughin news ltd world I'm pretty sure the poverty line is 150k
The value has diminished in part due to the erosion of trust between teachers and the government, who have restricted or taken away freedoms such as autonomy and control of teachers which they were previously afforded, now teachers are merely implementing decisions made by politicians and bureaucrats for the most part. Administrative and non-teaching duties have increased and become prioritised by the govt resulting in reduced time to spend on lesson preparation and working with other teachers to improve and develop. What is obvious about it?
I think if you actually read what I wrote you'll find I dislike both parties.^ labor stooge for sure
Well my dad told me that the he's Buzz Aldrin and that Barry O'Farrell built 3 new hospitals that all cured cancer and have 4000 nurses in every wing and 2000 doctors who get paid a million dollars an hourIt's also not only teachers jobs they're cutting. My dad just told me at the protest today he met nurses who had come from hospitals where they had slashed 120 of the 400 jobs. As a result, the remainders have to work non-stop at a breakneck pace and suffer the incredible fatigue. Or of course they could walk.
I think there's gonna be a lot more accidents in the future in hospitals if O'Farrell (or however you spell that cretin's name; I don't know) wants a good public system but isn't willing to pay for it. Despite the industrial action apparently he still is going ahead with it. He just doesn't care because he's not affected; all he cares about is his position as premier of this state.
Neither do the Labor imbeciles who applauded, cheered on and thumbed up the rally today. It's because of their blatant incompetence that all of this has happened. Vote for either party and we're screwed either way.
I don't see your point. Are you trying to suggest the nurse/my dad was lying?Phoenix while I agree I'd like to give good people more money, that's not how economics works

If that is the case, explain why they have created an unprecedented number of nursing positions for next year?I don't see your point. Are you trying to suggest the nurse/my dad was lying?
It's sad how the best discussion some of you can come up with is calling others "gay cunt" and "labor stooge", or making stupid smart alec comments.
There have been no cuts to front line public service staff (nurses, teachers, police etc) by the current government. The very opposite in fact. The budget provides funding for recruiting 2475 nurses, 900 teachers and 550 police. It's also not only teachers jobs they're cutting. Who says this? For all you know it could be an unprecedented number of much lower wage nursing positions after firing the ones on the current wage.If that is the case, explain why they have created an unprecedented number of nursing positions for next year?
