Points P(10p, 5p^2) and Q (10q, 5q^2) lie on the parabola x^2=20y. Find the equation of the locus of the midpoint of PQ if pq=-2

I got 10y+20=x^2

the answer is 10y-100=x^2

Who on Earth answers maths questions at night time?

From 2,

From 1,

Into 2,

EDIT: Technically this question made me lose 1 hour. (Daylight savings)

why can't we just substitute 1 into 2 instead of introducing pq?
