Re: General Thoughts: Studies of Religion I

people are forgetting

there is a DIFFERENCE between ecumenism and ecumenical DIALOGUE

dialogue attempts to provide a mutual understanding between the differences in denominations FOR unification

unification is the product

mutual understand the cause

so im sorry its D

pretty straight forward i thought

also the essay:

u can say compassion or justice or both
I agree...There is a reason that they specified ecumenical dialogue....anyway, i'll guess we'll see. :)

Also, i wrote about both in the essay too. :)

B was 63% aged 43 and younger and 37% aged 44 and older...I'm pretty sure that was right for question 10...

Re: General Thoughts: Studies of Religion I

Can anyone upload the multiple choice? I'd like to check my answers.

Also what did everyone put for q11? I think I screwed it up. I wrote about how the NCCA has many charitable efforts and how national dialogue portrays that the religions can co-exist peacefully, unlike in the old days. These make the religions more appealing to the younger generations.

Section II was pretty easy. Ended up writing basically the same stuff about Asoka 3 times.

Section III sucked. Was pumped to write about marriage, but could only write about bioethics and how their view is the midpoint of justice and compassion.

I got the same, except for question 1. I said social justice. But I was tossing up between unification and social justice. I reckon it is probably unification...But who knows, everyone is saying different things.

This.
If I did SoR1 I would've gone well.
Expecting:
Section I: 13/15
Section II - Christianity: 12/15
Section III - Buddhism: 16/20

But I got around
Section I B: 13/15
Section II - Islam: 11/15
Section IV: 16/20

Actually, looking back, I did pretty good, considering I got 71 in the trial. :)

Re: General Thoughts: Studies of Religion I

It was good overall! ;)

I had Judaism for II and Christianity for III
I was surprised at the inclusion of a quote for section II, which was a bit tricky before I got around it.

Is this the first paper to have a quote for every response in III?!

Anyone who did Christianity for III, how did you structure your response?

I had:

- Intro/link to statement

-Environmental ethics linked to "justice"

-Paul of Tarsus linked to "justice"

-Marriage linked to "compassion"

-Paul linked to "compassion"

-Environmental ethics to "compassion"

-Overall statement on quote/relevance to Christianity (though I addressed this in the other sections individually)

-Conclusion

Woooo how many pages did you get? I got 4, and I only put in an overall statement because I didn't directly address it in the intro haha.
I just used my english skills to structure it!
