Textual Dynamics was largely what I was expecting, and by the end of the exam that two hours had flown past!

Essay: Quite broad and multiple aspects to discuss; features, form, ideas, experience, act of reading. It all tended to flow together however so I think that overall it went down pretty much as expected.

Creative: My bad on assuming a picture was a definite, but the quote worked all the same. Story was essentially about the Devil being thrown out of heaven, and how annoyed he was that broader society had misconstrued his intentions i.e. he is really about just wanting humanity to have fun whilst the supposed 'good guys' are stifling and strict.

Essay was 9 pages, Creative 8, but my writing was quite small, and whoever said they felt sluggish, totally agree, I didn't feel as speedy as other days.

To whoever did those crazy number of booklets, well played good sir/madam

yeah i was *really* sluggish and relaxed with my writing. In fact i was taking occasional 1 minute breaks which was nuts, considering i didn't waste a single second looking around etc for advanced :\

Love it. For Sci-Fi, the first line of my story (had to change it a bit because of the quote):

"We must stop the bots!" Basically a robot Tony Abbott who realises that there is nothing wrong with other robots and they should be embraced. I wrote the story for the lol's, showed my teacher and they said it was the est story I had done thus far (normally mine are total shite), so I fancied it up and used it :D A bit short but hoping for a good humored marker.

Another question: Do all essays and stories get marked twice for Ext 1 Eng, know they do for Adv Eng?

I feel like my school is the only one that chooses the Life Writing elective. And of course it's the most boring one. Figures I guess.
Questions weren't even nearly hard though.
Eh, just glad it's over with.

Every quesiton for every subject worth more than 10 marks gets marked twice

It was a pretty good exam.... I think I mucked up in the essay (Sigh -_-) but the creative I think I did pretty alright.... My creative was written from 5 perspectives, in second person, and it focused on a guy who recently shot 8 people (7 of whom died) at school.... The different perspectives are from the Sister, Best Friend, The History Teacher, The Mother and 8th Girl who got shot.... Basically the guy who shot everyone wrote a letter saying that quote that was in the question which triggers the emotions of each character.... Each character is being interrogated by a detective, and are shown to feel as if it was their fault for why he shot everyone because they could see he was one of those silent/crazy/messed-up/bullied ones, but they did nothing.... Any-who, the way it fits in with 'Crime Writing' is like, yeah, it doesn't really.... Except through the interrogation and the 'mysterious' nature of it all.... Because it's not from the perspective of the guy, but of all who knew him....

Have you done this story at school, shown teachers etc? A kid in my class for Adv English did a story about a person that goes on a kill spree. This was like a detailed account of the killing and stuff, also it was for Belonging (not sure how it fitted at all). He got in trouble for it, pretty sure that DOCS may have been contacted (not positive). Your one sounds more sophisticated and interesting, just checking that you have had it checked, as it sounds somewhat similar.

Kid ended up being fine, nice guy and all, happy person etc, probably one of the last people to go on a kill spree too.

Good luck with it.

Overall, not too bad (navigating the global). The essay question was easy, pretty much write your prepared essay. The narrative quote threw me off a bit though.. managed to stick the quote in but i'm not going to win points for integrating it amazingly lol.

Did people pick up on the "use the following quote as part of a character's reflection on an important event"? Most people in my class didn't read the question and changed their narrative to start off with the quote

I made it a flashback and at the end he reflects once again by returning to the present.

Thank you for telling me.... I didn't mention any sort of killing or violence whatsoever. I did do write a few things that were a bit morbid but I knew when "enough's-enough's".... I didn't want to tell a story of a kid going on a killing spree.... I just wanted to portray how a character affects others, and how they feel like they too are the villains....

And I didn't get it checked by my teacher as well.... Sounds a bit worrying.... But yeah.

I hope the 'DOCs' don't contact me.... What is the 'DOCs' anyway? Doctors?

Yeah WTF is up with so much writing?

I did 9 pages for the essay and 5 for the story (6-8 words per line), and I thought that was pretty decent. To all the people writing the equivalent of War and Peace, how much do others in your class write?

Lastly, how nice have your invigilator's been? Mine have been pretty awesome, funny before the exams and not too fussed about stopping dead on the time. Fair enough though, what with the distractions such as people coming into our room to check a fire extinguisher (WTF??? Scheduling???), them being slow to get writing booklets out to us etc.
I am so glad you said that because I wrote 8 pages for each, and I know they both were good and fit the stimulus perfectly but I was feeling terrible seing how much some people wrote.

(Romanticism) I wrote 15 pages for the essay and 9 pages for the creative, I average 12 words per line.
It was not my best though, I had to manipulate the creative writing and wing one of the related material =S
I was not sure whether you were allowed to discuss a painting? I did William Turner's "The Shipwreck".
Only god can save me now! :p
