What are the Pros and Cons of coming 2nd-4th out of like 10 at a poorly ranked school (450+)?

I know that being ranked 1-2 in a school like that can avoid you from being pulled down by your cohort but i'm no expert.

Edit: I also doubt that there are many negatives in having a higher rank...

Pros: Relatively high rank
Cons: There aren't many people doing the subject so it may risk dragging you down if you're not first

Depends how poor 3rd--> is. It can have an effect on 2nd but not 1st, being 3rd or 4th will definately affect you scaling-wise and be dragged down.
