Re: The Official Football Thread

the FA want him to be next england manager hence he can do anything he wants now. Really overrated manager imho.
Aye, pretty much. Boldness seems to be something lacking in many international footballing bodies.

also pool want to sell carroll back now hahaha fuck
They can get fucked. We can pick up a much better striker from the continent for less money than Carroll.

Quite unlike Shay Given but this was the first thing I thought of when I saw that video.

Let it be a lesson to goalkeepers

There's nothing in that story. Mike Ashley is a miserly owner so there's no chance he would match the asking price of Carroll.

Re: The Official Football Thread

Fair play to Thierry Henry for scoring on his second debut against Leeds.
Legend must admit

saint of hignbury was back to his best. Arsenal need to find another player besides RVP who can hit the next. The rest of them gervinho, ashvin, ramsey, walcott all butcher so many chances per game its not funny.

But alex oxlande chamerlins looks really good infront of the goal (good strikes against leeds) and his first touch and passing is incredible. For a guy that turned 18 in august, he is incredible.

Also we could use a some defenders.
Chamberlain was reportedly unhappy at Arsenal cause he doesn't much playing time but apparently he denied it (idk)

mertesaker for david luis one for one swap.
One shit defender for another shit defender, makes sense

Unbelievable how Redknapp can be so detestable. What is he trying to achieving by discussing Ba and a rumoured release clause? Any discussion about a player's contract outside the two parties in question is in contravention to the rules outline by the FA.

Can't resist tapping up players. What a fucktard.
Don't like Redknapp

It's just because there's finally a half-decent English manager that he's praised

for 10 million or something lol

Newcastle would have to be on drugs and high to sell Ba lol

Yep

Very unconvincing performance against QPR but I'm glad we got the win and now once again above Liverpool.

Also, swansea's result was terrific. Nice to see a newly promoted side play some great football because the last thing we need is another stoke. Hopefully McEachran will slot right into the side when he joins on loan in a couple of days

We buy a striker for £10m and give him the #9.

Certainly something I didn't expect to happen this transfer window.

Suprising. I would of thought they would of went for a defender given their lack of strength in depth at the back.

In all honesty, we were lacking quality up front. If you saw Shola's performance against QPR, you would understand. Best is very good on his feet and has got loads of technique but doesn't stand out physically. Lovenkrands was never really a PL striker to begin with, Ben Arfa is a player who plays in the hole so his creative talent would be wasted up front, and Ranger is a young misfit who has flopped despite the promise.

With Taylor, Williamson and Coloccini, they are all PL-quality defenders so we're looking for a player too out of the ordinary here. Given there's 2 weeks left in the window, I'm sure we will bring a centre back in quickly.

Why can't Liverpool just get Moussa Sow already instead of chasing Darren Bent

Re: The Official Football Thread

My word that was embarassing.

I suppose the silver lining is that Liverpool also lost so it's not a total disaster.
