Hey Guys! :)
So recently, i've just selected the novel 'The Spare Room' by Kathryn Lomer as my related text for Belonging ... and my prescribed text is the memoir 'Romulus My father' . I will be needing TWO RELATED texts for my half yearly. Anyone know of any other texts that would go well with the two i've chosen? Preferably a movie .. or anything else that is not a novel/memoir. Thanks in advance! :)

Novels:
For one more day - Mitch Albom - It's awesome!
The Book thief - Markus Zusak
My sister's keeper - Jodie Bicuit

Films:
What's eating Gilbert Grape?
Chocolat - Lasse Hallstorm
The descendants
My Sister's keeper - the film
Playing with Beatie Bow
Little Miss sunshine

I'm doing "For one more day" and "Chocolat" - BEST related texts for "The Simple Gift"

Its usually recommended that you don't do films as related texts.
Look at some poems. They are easy to remember and are absolutely loaded with techniques to talk about for as long as you need to :)

That's not true^ It is recommended that you do not do stereotypical films as related text, but you can choose sophisticated films.
My friend's cousin did 'What's killing Albert Grape' and she achieved 98+ and state ranking.

Do you mean 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape'? because i looked it up and that was the only result. It seems like a good film that would suit my two texts. Thankyou so much!

Some films would work really well with certain set texts, so don't rule them out always.
But of course, you would need to analyse some scenes in more detail than others.
