memorisation will get you a band 4, understanding will get you a band 6.
Mate, I said memorisation combines rote-learning AND understanding.
So bloody read the entire post next time please before you quote based on assumptions :)
So memorisation (with understanding contained within the memorisation) will get you a band 4, the lower band, and understanding by itself gets you a band 6?
Mate...

I dont know, u get to a point where u stop giving a shit about time, especially with english. so yeah ummm my studying hours are UNKNOWN. Basically some days will be really low like 2 hours and some days may be 5-6
To the english comment I say PREACH IT SISTA! But yeah, I do about 2-3 on school days but about 6-8 on weekend days...

memorisation will get you a band 4, understanding will get you a band 6.
Also, understanding only gets you the band 5 at maximum.... What gets people in the band 6 range is accuracy and exam technique...
My physics teacher always stress that people throw away marks, due to bad exam technique, even though they have great understanding which causes them to miss out on those band 6s....
But, I'd think you would know this since you've already done your HSC... Exam technique is required to get into that band 6 range...

Please elaborate. What do you mean by technique?
- Reading the question properly (trust me, some people fail to do this)
- Label all diagrams and graphs if there are any
- It's mainly about accuracy

Wise student right here.

On a slightly unrelated note, the thread title is driving me crazy. It's "How MANY" hours, not "How MUCH" hours.

Mind if I ask a question?

Would you say 'two and half chicken' or 'two chicken and a half'?

Sorry, deleted my post doing something retarded that I can't actually remember consciously deciding to do...
Lol, I just turned sixteen and I'm in year 11. Youngest in my family. Is it terribly misleading?
Fuark need to find a better outlet to release trollstress.

Varies from 1 hour to 10 hours a day, depending on the workload and my efficiency. But generally, it's been about 2-4 hours everyday excluding class hours.
