So I'm going to start my story soon and I was wondering if it would be okay if I write about russian roulette. Would most teachers appreciate a bit of crime? thanks.

Note that I'm only a year 10 student, although I think it would be a great idea writing about 'russian roulette'. I wouldn't see a problem in adding a bit of crime to a belonging story as it could aid with a plot development. Perhaps wait for someone who is doing their HSC or is more capable to answer your question.

There is no problem with this, but make sure it actually makes sense in the story and is not tacked on just to look adult or mature.

there is this marker's A-list that my teacher provided us with, it has all the don'ts of short stories, and trust me there are a lot of them. I will try and find it for you and see what it says
should be fine :)
