So far I've seen an opinion put forward, but I can't find any sort of argument to justify it? I've gone through the thread twice.

I'm struggling to establish how you arrived at your opinion. What kind of scientific evidence are you after exactly?

Personally I don't really care about the decisions other people make. Personal freedom is a beautiful thing.
I'm confused as to what brings a person to come to realisation that they are transsexual. Is it a chemical imbalance? Is it craving attention? Or is it a legitimate mindset and lifestyle?

Scientific evidence proving transsexuality. That is, proving that a person can be born transsexual, and slowly develop feelings associated with transsexuality.

I've heard stories of transsexuals having gender changing operations to be gay with the gender they changed to.

IDK it just seems like this massive attention attracting..."thing".
There's the cynic...and then there's the dick.

What do you care if or why people change their sex, or want to do it?

No I mean what about those who leave town to start new lives after the operation so they aren't constantly being viewed through the prism of being a transsexual? I know for example of a girl who changed schools after her operation because she didn't want people to know. Those folk are obviously not doing it for attention.

I just doesn't seem natural. Was there a prevalence of transsexuality 60 years ago? I think not.

I'm confused as to what brings a person to come to realisation that they are heterosexual. Is it a chemical imbalance? Is it craving attention? Or is it a legitimate mindset and lifestyle?

Scientific evidence proving heterosexuality. That is, proving that a person can be born heterosexual, and slowly develop feelings associated with heterosexuality.

You could say the same about homosexuality. Unfortunately there was a distinct lack of societal interest, tolerance, knowledge or research done on the subject. So there's no way to tell. In terms of the actual technology, that is new. But it is merely a catalyst for people to find their true selves.

The thing is that "natural" is completely subjective. If people instinctually feel as though they'd rather be a different gender, is that not occurring in nature? Isn't that their nature? There's no one definition of what is "natural" or not. And you do not get to make that decision on behalf of society.

Since the overwhelming majority of the populous is born straight, that argument cannot be used.

There have been many studies. If you are actually interested in the subject a quick google search will provide you with the information you need. Otherwise it seems more likely you just want to attack people who don't follow what you consider to be "normal".

But again, why do you care? If people want to have a vagina instead of a penis, why is it any of your concern how they feel about this?

It believes homosexuality is unnatural.

No one is born with a sexual identity. Your sexuality does not develop until after puberty. That is why homosexual individuals often describe themselves as "confused", because societal pressure (which they have been exposed to for 13 or so years of their life) to be straight conflicts with their innermost desire to be who they are, which is homosexual.

Why not? So essentially you are saying that the proof is in the fact that heterosexuals exists, ergo, the proof of transsexuals is the fact hat they exist, indeed, you are even the one arguing it is more prevelant than before!

First, I wanted to gauge "public" opinion.

I boggles my mind.

It believes homosexuality is unnatural.
Why is that? And why can't (or shouldn't) we aim to change that?

Our cultural heritage stems from Christian values, so of course there is an inherent contempt for homosexuality. I don't understand why a particular denomination of humanity gets the right to decide what is the "natural" human state for all others.

Feelings of homosexuality or transsexuality are instinctual and naturally occurring in individuals. Even if it is not the natural state of the majority, it is still natural for a select few.
