Has anyone heard about the upcoming strike next wednesday? Is your school involved and what is it for exactly?

Every public school in the state is involved.

Teachers want an agreement to retain the same existing/current level of students to staff ratio in schools. Barry O'Farrel plans to slash 8000 public sector works and many teachers fear those jobs will come from the education sector - Barry O'Farrel has refused to rule this out.

The teachers are not even asking for a pay-rise or better conditions, just to maintain the current conditions for the good of the students.

I think this issue related to O'Farrel's "Local Schools, Local decisions" policy. I wihs our school is involved, i need a day off....
