hello people!

i got 80/105 in my trials for english advanced....the test we got turned out to be 2011 cssa trial paper but i only came to know about it two days after i done the test...so what mark does this scale to in terms of hsc???

There's really no way to tell, unfortunately. Depends on the paper!

You should be aiming for ~90/105 for a comfortable band six though. I got 96/105 in my trials.

but people say u need around ~75-77???

In 2010, a mark of around 76/100 (english paper I is out of 40% and paper II is out of 60%) was just enough for a band 6. However, as iSplicer has stated, it can vary significantly as aligning standards change from year to year.

You might be able to pull off a low band 6, providing also that the markers mark at a similar standard as the HSC marking centre, and of course depending on the difficulty of this year's paper.
