^ haha yeah, that's true.
In an ideal world a harder paper is better, as it rewards those with actual skill in 4u mathematics. I knew I had my 3u down rather well (along with a few thousand others), but I chose to focus drastically less on 4u as a tactical manoeuvre, given it scaled so well and losing a few marks there in exchange for a killer Eng Adv mark was a wonderful trade-off for my ATAR. That's my one regret, not studying 4u nearly as much as I would've liked =( (basically did not TOUCH it for two months before the HSC, literally). If the test was even marginally easier, I would've outperformed many people who genuinely tried their hardest for 4u - and in a way I'm happy they beat me because they deserved it =].
