I'm sure some people are not too happy with their UMAT results and consider deleting it from their UAC preferences but others are wondering how else are they going to get into med?
Could you guys provide a list of alternatives? thanks :D

Well most people who fail to get into med commonly do medical science and try to either transfer or do postgraduate. That being said, you don't have to do a science degree or a degree that is related to medicine.

I heard that the number of people who transfer from med science is very low around 6 -7 every year? How any people in total do med science anyway at UWS and USYD? Just want to see the competition

Going to the UNSW open day this year they said that about 200 students do med science every year but they plan to increase to 220 or somethin because they're having a new building.

Do you have to be top 15 for the duration of the med science course? That is for the 3 years you have to be top 15. I've heard you also need to complete the honors program.

top 15 at end of second year then they select you. You then finish of final year of med science & honours and commence year 4 of medicine course.

would that mean that it takes the 3 years of medical science plus the final 2 years of medicince? so it would take 5 years altogether which is the same as getting in straight as a school leaver?

also is there a preferred course that boosts your chances to get in? or have the same content as medicine?

there are heaps of courses such as science, advanced science, medical science.
which of these is the best to do in order to maximize my chances of getting in?
