Hey guys I was just wandering how do you study?

How many subjects a night do you study?
How many hours for each subject?
How often do you take breaks and how long do they last?
What time do you go to sleep?
How would you memories formulas and theory?
What would you consider studying?

Thanks.

There's no set rules,

As you'll see almost everyone here state.

- Study as much as you need to feel confident with your knowledge and understanding of the course.
- Find what works best for you.

However if you want an example:

This is what I'm starting. (Not properly seeing as I have some exams in a few days that take priority)

Tuesday to Thursday = 3-4 hours study a night. With each night having one major subject that I study for a good (1-1.5hrs) Then another half hour or so for all other subjects. Then obviously the next day, I change which major subject I'll study.

Monday = night time History Extension class (so no study)
Friday = Sport Training
Saturday = 1-3hrs in morning. Tutor at night.
Sunday = 6-8hrs (2hrs max per subject)

Studying for me involves writing syllabus notes, doing questions, understanding the concepts and revising what has been learnt so far.

For me I just study from 5/6-11 with breaks etc. for the subjects I have tomorrow :p
After tutor I just so their homework or bring it to school and do it in my frees.
Sunday I go to State and study all day 2hrs each subject

its all about getting to know urself and knowing what study method is best for u
whether u do 6hrs a day or 3hrs a day its upto u to decide what technique to use to get you the highest possible ATAR

How many subjects a night do you study? Varied, normally did bits and pieces as needed for a few, perhaps focus on one more in depth
How many hours for each subject? Personally, it varied greatly. I definitely do not study for all my subjects equally. Most time for maths, the subject I probably spent the least time on was Modern.
How often do you take breaks and how long do they last? Haha whenever I felt like it, depended
What time do you go to sleep? During school term it was probably 11 PM most nights
How would you memories formulas and theory? Method book, flash cards, summaries/with lots of reading, perhaps recording it listening to it, oh and colour coding themes/techniques is good for English
What would you consider studying? Anything school related, not separate from HW although I only did useful revision/learning type homework anyway.

My revision wasn't strict, to do lists with incentives when I ticked them off for the night i.e do 3 of five things, watch episode of HIMYM do the last two and enjoy dessert and a cup of tea etc.

You probably won't get much out of this post because I never had a study timetable or followed any of the rules that 'study theory' says you should do- I'm just making this post to show that you don't need to neccessarily do everything exactly the way your teachers tell you- you have to find what works for YOU. Basically I never had a study timetable, never wrote my own notes, took erratic breaks, didn't plan study out to the hour etc. but this worked for ME.

How many subjects a night do you study? Depends. I would do all my homework if I thought it would help (if its BS homework, then stuff it) and then read a few notes from other people on what we had covered at school that day to consolidate.

How many hours for each subject? Again, it depends. Sometimes I would spend hours on just one subject whilst other times maybe just 10 minutes.

How often do you take breaks and how long do they last? Haha this is a good one for me. I would go by feel- when I'm doing english I legit take a 10 minute break every ten minutes. For maths, I can go for hours without breaks because its way more interesting etc. I recommend having like a goals system- tell yourself: "Ok, when I finish this exercise or when I learn this, then I'll watch t.v or whatever"

What time do you go to sleep? Around 11ish?

How would you memories formulas and theory?
Just read over it and practice. I never wrote my own notes and that worked for me but others say writing their own notes helps them remember stuff- the point is find what works for you

What would you consider studying? Anything school related -> Homework, reading notes, past papers

Good luck :)

It's pretty much different for any person and realistically up to you to decide what's best. Keep everything in moderation and you will do fine.

OO Most of you guys go to sleep quite early compare to me... I study until 12ish then wake up 6:30/7:30/8:30 depends on tomorrow. I heard that most HSC students get like 6-7 hours of sleep a night fuck 8.

I do around 4-5 hours of study a night at the moment, however most of that is spent on assessments because they're all going to be in the space of a week so i'm trying to finish everything.. i generally go to bed at 10, but i get up at 5:30 and go for a run/swim training/weights or whatever..

As we get overloaded with assessments currently, I am putting in around 4-5 hrs a night. Hopefully that will allow me to achieve an atar over 30 so I can do my accounting course at TAFE, and then get a graduate job at Goldman Sachs doing M&A.

i think around 2.5-3.5 hours a night should do the trick. The main times when it counts are the holidays before exam periods eg. before trials & HSC when you have to do like 6-8 hours a day if you are aiming for a high atar
