Re: Top 100 School Rankings

Now I'm devo I didn't make Fort Street.
Don't be. If you are planning to study Law when you get to uni, just want to let you know legal studies will not help you out much with your law degree :D

Also how did you know we are performing well in legal studies?

Yep Legal Studies = barely any legal principles, mostly just effectiveness/success of law regarding society.

Re: Top 100 School Rankings

Lol Fort St is still top 20?? OMG I am so surprised that we are 15th. Must be the accelerant program that saved our ass. This year's Year 12 was expecting to bomb it haha
Lol so true. We were so sure the school will fall out of the top 30s and the year 11s were complaining that the year 12 cohort were going to drag them down. Can't believe we managed to produce 17 all round achievers and 5 state rankers. Yay going to make an appearance at speech day 2013!!

Re: Top 100 School Rankings

How many schools are there in the state? Just for some sort of comparison.

Re: Top 100 School Rankings

Nice to see ryde secondary boosting back to the top 100 again (Y)

Although judging from the first place list it was bound to happen.
Legacy of my grade continues.

Re: Top 100 School Rankings

I'm surprised NSB have sustained their 2nd place with such a high %. The gap between them and Ruse is reasonably close.
They have accelerant IPT and get state ranks in them.

Re: Top 100 School Rankings

I agree, but dont forget school rankings are not official as they arent compiled by BoS. Ideally, the best way to rank schools would be through using the ATAR, but since this isnt publically available, it cannot be done.
Yeah true. Stupid privacy rules regarding ATAR.

Re: Top 100 School Rankings

Class of 2013 accelerants saved Fort Street's ass. If you look at the success rate gap with the schools below it is less than 3% from 15 to 22 so if it wasn't for them we probably would've ranked around 20-22.

Re: Top 100 School Rankings

This year's cohort for Ryde Secondary had done well, the state rankers had boosted the school's rank up.
Although I doubt my year's cohort will do as well :l

It's amazing that we had 10-11 state rankings, esp. in chinese background, indonesian and business studies. that came out of nowhere, srsly. =_=

I'm guessing the class of 2012 is probs the best year yet in terms of range of academic ability, but 2009 was best in no. of credits.

That partly true but you still have to give this year some credit. I doubt the whole chem accelerant class got B6. Maths probs yes. If you are going to say that, then last year probably crack top 10 because of the accelerants too.

The government just really doesn't want "league tables" to be made. It happens anyway, but since they are generated through questionable criteria they are not as much of a problem.

Might pop by on Speech Day to say hi to the teachers. My friend visited school today and said the teachers were happy/surprised hahaha
