I asked my SDA representative today, she told me that that doesn't apply to our store, because our store only trades 6-days, and that part of the agreement was written with 7-day trading in mind.

Somehow that affects it.

Bugger :(
That sounds like bullshit, unless the day you aren't open is the saturday.

Yeah I'm starting to wonder that... I should have asked if there is a clause there that excludes it from our store or anything...

But our SDA Steward (the lady I asked) did ask the SDA representative that comes out here every few weeks, so I guess she knows what she's about.

That's more of an annoyance for me because asking for EDR is second nature. So I'll probably ask people without even thinking about it, then I'll get the "BUT YOU CAN'T GET REWARDS ON TOBACCO ANYMORE" know it alls.

So you guys/your customers still earned QFF and fuel vouchers on tobacco products? QLD has had that law in place since before I started.

I never asked for EDR card anyway... and when I did (when SM was nearby) I had the know-it-alls say exactly that.

Could the mystery shopper come thru the smokeshop... ?

When I first started, tobacco was not affected. New harsh laws came into affect on Jan 1 2011 which meant the smokes had to be covered up, this was when we stopped QFF points, but customers still got a fuel voucher over $30.

Feedback about what? Your store manager (assuming you work in a store) should be the first person you speak to.

If your 'feedback' consitutes serious misconduct (e.g. theft, fraud, illegal activity, serious breach of policy etc.), then you can contact Deloitte who run our Speak Up program on 1800 334 319.

If your store manager won't/can't help you, then contact your Human Resources Specialist. Your store manager or department manager will have their name and phone number.

tl;dr follow the chain of command, if the feedback is of a serious nature then report it anonymously via the Speak Up program.

Anyone else's SCO Machines not printing out Cash Management reports? Went to print them tonight as per usual and all that printed out was the receipt header. Was very weird!

Tobacco products are FINALLY no longer working on staff discount cards, although someone reckon'd that stores in the city would still work with them? Apparently, because they haven't had "written consent" to do with it, they are still accepting discounts? I think that's a load of horse shit, but anyway...
On the note of tobacco, if someone comes up with a Fake ID, do we have the authority to confiscate it? I suppose we could take it, and then if the dick using it has a problem, we could call the police and get him charged for using a fake ID. I've seen people from my area discussing the website www.fakies.com.au and http://www.noveltyid.com.au/order.html on Facebook, I'm just waiting for someone to use one haha.

I am totally sorry for asking for like the MILLIONTH time, but is our policy to check for ID if someone (obviously underage) tells their parent/older, mature person with them, what cigarettes they want, and refuse the sale? I have checked the QLD Legislation, and apparently, we would not be in breach of the law if we were aware the cigarettes were for a underage person at the time of sale: it is only a criminal offense for the adult supplying the cigarettes to the minor, and even then, only if the adult was not a "responsible adult" (someone who is the legal parent or guardian). However, Woolworth's policy clearly leads me to believe that it is even a criminal offense for parents to supply cigarettes to their kids.

Just thought I would attempt to clarify this...

if theres a couple people coming up for ciggies i ID them all, even if only one of them dont have one or is under age, i tell them i cant and to try coles. i dont think we can confiscate fake IDs, just reject them, but i do know that if a persons ID doesnt match the credit/debit card they are using, we can cut it in half in front of them and then give it back. (always wanted to do it, never had the chance... YET.)

yeah lawstuff says (for NSW at least):
Only the police and certain people from Roads & Maritime Services can confiscate a fake ID. Staff members cannot, but even if they do there will usually be nothing you can do about it.
edit: now that i've said it the credit/debit card thing, i cant find where i read it again, anyone else know about this rule?

So, if I came in with my mum's bank card?

lol, I'd kick up the hugest stink... Surely there'd be some outdated federal law about destruction of property of the state?

Nanakid, see the below for the official policy/laws.

This is VIC:

This is QLD:

I understand this as QLD does not have a secondly supply law therefore it's only illegal if you sell them to a minor, not if somebody buys them and gives them to the child. See the last paragraph in the VIC policy.
