Recently I discovered that Maths in Focus isn't good for HSC so I upgraded to Fitzpatrick, and I can see why Maths in Focus ain't good. I am trying to do question 11 from exercise 11 b and can't seem to get anywhere near the answer, can anyone help me? The question is; Insert 5 terms in arithmetic sequence between -8 and 22. I follow the example, which is worded exactly the same, but I keep on getting the wrong answer. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

common difference is: 30/6 = 5

therefore,

-8, -3, 2, 7, 12, 17, 22

Oh wow so simple, thanks a lot. Wonder why they over-complicated it in the example...
Fitzpatrick isn't really the best textbook to use as they don't really simulate HSC questions. try past papers or get the success one book with worked solutions

Hmm true... All the other questions I've done so far from this book are rather easy, I'll look into success one, thanks for the advice.
