Clarify what you mean...
I feel it's pretty clear, he's a floundering buffoon who utterly lacks the skill to construct a remotely clear and coherent argument (source: every post he's ever made).
He routinely resorts to attacking other people's opinions/statements while providing nothing of substance himself.
He displays neither logic nor wit and sums himself up pretty well with
im just a lacklustre outcast with no practical social and world knowledge
As such, he is in no position to legitimately criticise anyone else and his attempts to do so only reflect more poorly on himself.

NBN cost blowout
Asylum seekers influx
BER rorts
Grocery watch/fuel watch

I'm not saying any of them were bad intentions by Labor although they were all poorly executed.

Labor isn't a socialist or communist party either.
Original NBN estimate (from memory) was $36 billion.
NBN is currently estimated at $44 billion.
Considering that it will be paid for by the revenue raised from those who choose to use it (30 billion), and the remaining 14 billion by private investors, is a blowout of 8 bil when dealing with 10s of billions really that significant?

Stats back you up on Asylum seekers, though I'd contest that it reached the level of remotely alarming let alone disastrous.
You're probably right about the BER too, idk enough about it to be sure but it seems like a lot of money just to be spent on making / improving buildings which is pretty wasteful, so I'll agree with you on that.

Re: BER, no doubt there was some roots. But you have to consider the context, it was a program designed as economic stimulus, not as a carefully constructed plan to built infrastructure in schools. In order to get the money out there quickly there was bound to be some fat. You've got to consider the program as a whole and whether the benefits of the program outweigh the waste

I think they were all good ideas just poorly implemented.

I won't be voting Labor, although not because of BER or NBN, those are fine. I won't be voting them because I despised Gillard so much and because of the illegal boat people problem.

Was anyone by any chance watching abc/sbs (can't remember) news 2/3 days ago where they were discussing the seat of bennalong? So pretty much, if you don't know already, the majority of people are Asian within this area. Labour's candidate is Jason Li, and so then the news reported went around and asked people who they were gonna vote for; and she went to ask the biggest fob in eastwood who says: 'Kevin Rudd because he speaks Chinese'.

It's only really about 1 in 3.

True, but 50%+ in Eastwood and Epping are from from Asia. With these 2 areas, being the largest suburbs in bennalong. The 1/3 is due to the other areas which are more anglo-dominated.

Not really.

In both suburbs, there's still less than 50% of people who are ethnically Asian (including Indians).

I had a look at the spreadsheet for Eastwood (I know Epping will have less asians) and there's something like 45-49% living there so it's fairly close.

Annnnnnnnyway, to get back on topic, I don't think the race for Bennelong will be close. I just don't think a significant amount of people (to affect the decision) would simply be swayed on the basis of ethnicity. Besides, I would like to think that the actual citizens of Bennelong (obviously the ones who are allowed to vote) would be a bit more clued in. Having lived in the Eastwood/Epping area for over 21 years, it isn't difficult to discern that a fair whack of the asians you see on the streets of Eastwood aren't citizens.

Voting Liberal because my mother has forbidden me from voting anything else and also because Jason Li made me late to uni twice by stopping me at the station :haha:.

Coalition NBN is stupid.

Do it right or don't do it at all, Abet.
Labour: NBN to be completed in 15/20 years with high transfer speeds. (Who the fck wants to wait that long, by that time that crap will be outdated and their will be new technology)
Liberal: Use currently available optic fibres to complete NBN within 5 years at much lower speeds (means nothing for the long term, will only provide short term benefits, which in itself wont be much).

Fear of adopting technology because it may become obsolete is illogical.

You mean the current copper wiring which is ageing, has massive maintenance costs as a result and will act as a massive bottle neck.

Support for the greens has collapsed in bos polls.
I think a lot of people blame the carbon tax for the collapse of Labor's fortunes and by extension blame the Greens.

carbon tax is retarded. if labour really cared about the environment they'd stop giving 200 million a year to holden and ford.

edit: one thing i really hate about labour is their hypocrisy. They go on about how australia should be a "good middle power" getting involved in intl' development and humanitarian operations, which is all fine an dandy. Then they pull the whole "LOL WE WONT RESETTLE BOAT PEOPLE IN AUS." Good job labour, way to be a good middle power.

Have you done economics before?

Business that don't want to pay the tax won't pollute as much, and furthermore , this will compensate for the negative externalities produced by factories with high pollution. FYI, it's called a pigovian tax or corrective tax. Want me to draw the graph ?
