Hi guys,
My subjects are in my sig, but if I got around 85 for all my subjects would I be able to get a 90 atar?

If you got aligned marks of exactly 85 in those subjects, your ATAR would be 88-89.

Possible depending on internal ranks and cohort strength. And finally I find someone else going for USYD Economics, awesome.

Okay given my ranks are:

Advanced English: 8/72
Mathematics: 35/78
Economics: 2/20
Business Studies: 1/69
Legal Studies: 3/22
School rank: 200+
Would that help?

Man this is starting to get stressful! :S

If you give me your actual school I might be able to use last year's stats for your school to get an estimate.
(PM me if you don't want to disclose your school here)
However I'm a bit worried that your Maths mark might slip below the the limit of the stats I have available. But then I'll just do my best.

I get an estimate of 86...

Maths really dragging you down. Should be focussing on this for your external exam.

If you tend to examine well you can def add quite a bit to your ATAR.

Remember these external exam marks are 50% of your ATAR... so if you examine much better than what your school rank suggests you can boost your ATAR quite a bit.

These estimates assume you perform inline with your school rank (which is quite a big assumption).

If you are someone (like me) that tends to do well in exams (but are crap at internal assessments- projects/speeches etc) then you will likely get a higher ATAR than these predictions.

When I did my HSC I boosted my ATAR (or UAI back then) by 6 points in my final exams... If I performed in line with school ranks I would have got 92, but ended up getting 98.

In short- dont read to much into these estimates and make sure you do well in these final external exams.
