Re: Did poorly in engineering exam

It was fucking messed up. I mean okay you change the syllabus but you don't implement the changes all in one go. We only had the past papers to work on and the specimen paper which had no answer. This was a disgrace.

Insanely difficult exam ... Spent nearly half of the three week break studying for it. Gotta rebound by next week's exams I guess.

Lol I made comprehensive summaries on all the modules and i have done up to 2001 past papers and i feel i wont get over 70. Such bullshit. But i guess if everyone else thought it was hard then it should hopefully level out.

Yeah i just did this paper as well, omg the drawing were killers, and the numericals were pretty hard, the theory part was Okay, but overall that was a intensely difficult paper !!

Re: Did poorly in engineering exam

That was ridiculous! I think the max bending stress question had a mistake, the second moment of area was supposed to be x10^-6 mm^4, not x10^6 mm^4. GG Engineering

Re: Did poorly in engineering exam

no you have to change mm^4 to m^4 question was right

Re: Did poorly in engineering exam

i stuffed up most of the mechanics i think the efficiency one i had no clue
yeah same, i just made up some equations and somehow made it fit in an attempt to fish for marks :L

Since there isn't a thread,

How does everyone feel about the engineering exam? :chainsaw2:

Thought it was rather different/difficult in comparison to past papers and the 2013 sample paper?

Re: Did poorly in engineering exam

i dont think it matters as if you change it to m^4 you get Pa but if you dont change it you get MPa, all depends on unit agreement. also was the first multiple choice question pre-stressed or post-stressed concrete? aaaaaand with the efficiency one i think the velocity ratio was just number of teeth in the small crank divided by the number of teeth in the larger crank...

but overall the hardest hsc paper so far for Engineering Studies:angryfire::spzz::angryfire::spzz:

Yeah very different, even to the specimen paper. Expecting 60-65 raw :/ But it sounds like everyone had trouble with the exam so marks should level I hope.
